Zakat is due once a year when your net zakatable wealth stays at or above the Nisab for one full lunar (Hijri) year. The amount is 2.5% of that wealth.

Your home, car, furniture, everyday clothes and tools of your trade are not counted. Gold value = grams × 24K rate × purity (e.g. 22/24 for 22K).
